About me, Emma Moffatt:
Emma Moffatt is on the road to success and focused on the challenge ahead and that is the London 2012 Olympics. It’s every sports persons dream to represent their country and bring home the gold. And Emma is in better shape than ever to achieve her goal.
2010 & 2009 World Triathlon Champion and Olympic Bronze Medallist Emma Moffatt continue to rise, with expectations of success firmly set on the upcoming 2011 World Triathlon Championships in Europe.
With both parents competing in Triathlons throughout her life and strong athletic tendencies in other family members, Emma Moffatt’s progression to becoming a professional triathlete was a natural one.
She competed in her first triathlon at the age of 13 and in 2007 was named Triathlon Australia’s Athlete of the year. This gave Emma the thirst and drive for competition.
Currently residing on the Gold Coast, Emma is often referred to as "Moffy” or “Em”. Moffy loves the lifestyle she has on the Gold Coast and its ideal for training year round.
Still heavily influenced by her family, Emma takes her title as Auntie very seriously and cites the day she took on the the role as one of her proudest moments in her life, closely tied with winning the Bronze Medal at the 2008 Olympics.
Emma then went on to receive the title World Champion at the 2009 and 2010 ITU Triathlon World Championship.
Goals
Determination and focus is paying off for Emma. She’s a natural athlete with the tenacity and drive to be the best she can be. She has not only exceeded expectations to date but is set to accomplish big things in the future, with gold at the 2012 Olympics firmly set in her sights.
Emma’s career centres around her performing well above expectation, solid performances and delivering results have proven so far to be successful for Emma.
